Work that Excites.

My favorite CVC memory is when we drove down to NYC for the annual Cornell Entrepreneurship Summit and on the drive back, Fred (our current president) stopped at a Go-karting race track and we all randomly went Go-kart racing. Best. Pitstop. Ever. My best experiences with CVC are always when I get to learn something cool and new. Whether it's about Baby Tech or Liquid Biopsies, CVC has exposed me and opened my mind to industries like Industrial IoT that I would never dream of experiencing. I also get to work with incredibly driven and intelligent people who push me to do better and give me a million reasons to laugh along the way.

 

About Me

Shen is a junior from Malaysia majoring in Hotel Administration and minoring in Information Science. Since joining CVC in Fall '17, she has worked on projects in the areas of Industrial IoT, Agriculture Technology and Consumer Food Products with GGV Capital, NEA and Touchdown Ventures. Previously, she served as the President of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) at Cornell and as the Campus Manager of Elevate Meal Plan, a DC-based meal plan startup. Her professional experience includes starting a restaurant called Fresco Supper Club, working at Unilever as a Brand Management and E-Commerce Intern and at Snapcart as a Business Intelligence and Data Science Intern. Currently, she is building her social food venture, Fresco Foods, and is writing a book about Food, Agriculture and Technology that will be published by New Degree Press in March 2019. In her free time, she loves to cook and bake, go to farmers markets, dance Flamenco, spin, snowboard and watch Chef’s Table and Suits.

Before college, I started a farm-to-table, social mission-driven restaurant called Fresco Supper Club in Singapore and interned at Marriott Hotels and Resorts and SaladStop, a health food chain in Asia. At college, I served as the President of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) at Cornell and as the Campus Manager of Elevate Meal Plan, a DC-based meal plan startup. During my college year summers, I worked at Unilever as a Brand Management and E-Commerce Intern and at Snapcart as a Business Intelligence and Data Science Intern. Currently, I am building my social food venture, Fresco Foods, and am writing a book about the role of technology in the future of the Food and Agriculture ecosystem that will be published by New Degree Press in March 2019.

Personal:

I enjoy cooking and baking, going to farmers markets, dancing Flamenco, spinning, practicing yoga, snowboarding and watching Chef’s Table and Suits. I am a lover of all things gastronomy and am seriously avocado obsessed (follow my avocado instagram @shensavoddiction for some quality avocado puns and recipes!)
